Upon registration into this noble institution you have begun your educational journey at the only technical high school in Region 3 (St. Ann and Trelawny). You have an opportunity to pursue studies that will provide you with employability skills and improve your chances of being able to participate in many of the industries of the future.
Over the almost 50 years of existence, our school has undergone several changes, all designed to improve the quality of educational offerings to our students, parents and staff. This is aligned with our school’s ethos of continued improvement. This is a true reflection of the spirit of the philosophy of the name we bear, that of the Right Excellent Marcus Mosiah Garvey. This son of the soil, and first national hero lived a life dedicated to improving the consciousness of Jamaicans on the power of positive thinking ad knowledge of self, and our great nation’s history. We are convinced that attaining excellent academic performance, pursuing the development of one’s talent and becoming socially conscious are not mutually exclusive. In fact, we believe that these must be simultaneously pursues as one strives to become a productive citizen.
As a school, we aim to become trailblazers in the field of technical and vocational education. It is our desire to contribute to the future of our country’s educational landscape by continuing to be innovators as we prepare students for the jobs of the future.
As Chairman of the Board of Management, it is my pleasure to pledge on behalf of the Board, that we will continue to be relentless in our pursuit to Garvey, “we will not be defeated in the race of life, we will be ambitious in the desire to go forward and improve our condition. It is a burning flame that lights up u rife and makes us see ourselves in another state. To be ambitious is to be great in mind and soul. To want that which is worthwhile and strive for it. To go without looking back, reaching to that which gives satisfaction”. Keep safe as we embrace this NEW NORMAL.
