Marcus Garvey Day 2017

Our school seeks to perpetuate as well as foster a deep sense of cultural awareness among the student population and its wider community.  With this in mind, Black History/Reggae Month was launched on the 6th of February 2017 under the theme “Back to Africa...Yout Hol’ Yuh Roots” The month’s activities included our annual Garvey Day which was held on the 23rd of February 2017.   Hard work and intense competition soared and cultural fever was evident as houses took us on a journey to West Africa.  This was done on a competitive basis.  Henry depicted life in Nigeria, Lee transported us to Ghana and we travelled with McBeth and Nicholson to Senegal and Gambia respectively.  Nicholson was the winner of the event.
